![]() Nicholaus Meyers, a native of Georgia, received his Bachelors degree in Percussion Performance from Augusta State University and Masters degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Tennessee. He also pursued additional studies in Divinity from Epiphany Seminary. While at Augusta State Mr. Meyers was the section leader or the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. He also conducted the Wind Ensemble in concert and performed with various local professional organizations. His teachers were Michael Katterjohn (percussion), Lou Cefus (conducting) and Martin David Jones (piano and theory). While at the University of Tennessee he performed with the Symphony Orchestra, percussion ensemble and was a member of the Oakridge Symphony. His teachers at the University of Tennessee were Kenneth Jacobs (composition), F. Michael Combs (percussion) and Keith Brown (drumset). Mr. Meyers has also studied composition with Roger Vogel at the University of Georgia. ![]() Mr. Meyers is currently instructor of Percussion and Humanities at Augusta State University and works with the Lakeside High School band program in Evans, Georgia. He also teaches Music Appreciation at Augusta Technical College, Troy University, composes and performs with the Augusta Symphony, Opera, Choral Society and area churches. He also performs with the “Three Sides Percussion Trio”. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Percussive Arts Society (PAS), Society of Composers, College Music Society, The Film Music Society and is Listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers", "Who's Who Among the World" and "Who's Who of Emerging Leaders". Mr. Meyers is currently working on his first book "The Dangers of Contemporary Music and Worship" and is continuing to write original compositions for various instruments and voices that have been performed throughout the Southeast. Mr. Meyers is endorsed by Vater Percussion mallets and sticks, and Black Swamp Percussion.
